People complain about New York drivers, but I don't see the issue as a disproportionate amount are either cabbies or car service operators from out of the country. Jersey has the WORST drivers, as many trips on Route 1/9 and the Turnpikes have proven to me.
BTW: Ever driven on route 1 through Elizabeth and Linden? The roads look like they haven't changed much since Colonial days!

Rt 1/9 from top to bottom is a disaster area. Try to drive an 18-wheeler thru there and not hit some moron going too fast. Rt 17 from the NY line down to the Giants stadium is another mess. I got my back messed up by some stupid little chinaman who couldn't open his eyes wide enough to see where he wanted to go and caused me to pile up. I have driven all over this great country and the bad driving award goes to New Jersey and Massachusetts. At least in California they keep the traffic moving.
