[history]
Saddam is still alive and he's angry. Planes are still flying and they're vulnerable.
You'd think with a one-two punch like that, the markets would be tumbling. They did not and they are not. And here's why: I think Americans are a lot more upbeat about the news than the people who give them the news.

This guy runs a close second to Brit Hume for a sensible voice on the FOX News Channel. I'd like to buy 'em both a dinner.

Ummm..
Rumors of Saddam Hussein's capture sparked a short-covering rally around mid-day; however, as soon as it became apparent that such talk was false, sellers resumed their previous efforts and sent the market towards its worst levels of the day...1

I agree, Brit and Neil are the best!

The only problem is that Cavuto has been all hunky dory on the market since 2000. If you kept taking his advice during the bear market it would have cost you.
To: AntiGuv
Yes. I understand the same. Cavuto's point is still valid.

Fox News Channel is the best news/media outlet around and the cream of the crop at FNC is Brit Hume. Simply, the best of the best. Neil Cavuto and John Gibson are a close second and third. Bill O'Reilly is okay and can be very entertaining, but The Factor ratings drive O'Reilly's agenda.

You are so right - and as an aside - recently they were both off on vacation. I was stunned to see FOX take an almost visible tilt to the left! There were these awful leftist people on all these shows, and there were hardly any conservatives at all. I was about to write them a nasty email, but then Brit and Neal and Shep came back to work and suddenly things seemed to be back to nornal. LOL!
However, when they go on vacation again - you can bet I will be emailing them.

Well .. I really don't know. If he is a lefty, he has some basic conservative attitudes - way to the right of how most liberals think.

Well that is another thing that changed for me on 9/11, my opinion of Shepard Smith. Until then I had written him off as another Fox Ken-doll, but on that day he managed to strike the exactly appropriate tone. And at the end of his shift, he looked exhausted, saddened, stunned, and yet still himself.
Something about that moment captured my heart. Ever since I have been a very devoted Shep fan.
My landlord also told my that Howard Stern, of all people, stayed on the air and was very good that day. I, for one, was and remain prepared to believe it. Maybe some day I can go listen to those tapes at the Museum of Radio & TV. I wish I would have thought to tune in, in fact.
I certainly don't think Shepard is a lefty, in any event.

I didn't really know who Brit Hume was until I was scanning the various news channels on election night 2000. His rather dour expression alerted me immediately to a serious problem, previous to that, I had been mischieviously watching CNN just to catch the talking heads and their reaction to the declaration that George Bush had defeated the Vice President. But I instinctively realized that Mr. Hume was a "good guy" and all that. He's a fave for sure.

My paranoia knows no bounds, at least in my more uncharitable moments, perhaps Foxnews will go hard lefty once market share is assured?
To: Freedom4US
no they won't because then fox won't have the market share anymore and murdoch likes being number 1......

I'm so glad there's a fine editorialist like Neil Cavuto to write exactly what I think. I don't believe I've EVER disagreed with him. In fact, my response to his editorials is usually a hearty "YEAH!"
My response to this one? "YEAH!"

There were these awful leftist people on all these shows, and there were hardly any conservatives at all. There is a rhyme to reason, sometimes.
Putting liberals on the tube at strategic times shows how whacko they are.
Kinda like: We are at war with sadist whackos. Put on leftist whacko elected officials who support terrorists. Fill the airwaves with leftists while we are at war.
Get the picture? The commies are destroying themselves as Fox acquires an ever larger audience share.
Is Fox competing worldwide with CNN satellites?

All I know is Fox has the best makeup team working anywhere on TV today. I hope they win an Emmy for it. Their lipstick application is unrivaled!
