How about that Supreme Court diversity decision Marc? Did you celebrate it like I did?

" Did you celebrate it like I did?"
Here's the text of President Bush's statement, released after the USSC handed down it's decision in the Univ of Michigan. I cannot find in it any support of affirmative action. Can you?
" Following is the text of President Bush's statement June 23:
I applaud the Supreme Court for recognizing the value of diversity on our Nation's campuses. Diversity is one of America's greatest strengths. Today's decisions seek a careful balance between the goal of campus diversity and the fundamental principle of equal treatment under the law.
___
My Administration will continue to promote policies that expand educational opportunities for Americans from all racial, ethnic, and economic backgrounds. There are innovative and proven ways for colleges and universities to reflect our diversity without using racial quotas. The Court has made clear that colleges and universities must engage in a serious, good faith consideration of workable race-neutral alternatives. I agree that we must look first to these race-neutral approaches to make campuses more welcoming for all students.
Race is a reality in American life. Yet like the Court, I look forward to the day when America will truly be a color-blind society. My Administration will continue to work toward this important goal."

Nor did Bush mention vacuum cleaners in his speech. What's your point?

My new caption suggestion:
"I applaud the Supreme Court for recognizing the value of diversity on our Nation's campuses. Diversity is one of America's greatest strengths. Today's decisions seek a careful balance between the goal of campus diversity and the fundamental principle of equal treatment under the law. "
(Thanks to Wild Irish Rose for reminding me of the inarticulate one's statement in support of the nonsense known as "diversity", and of his notion that equality under the law is a goal and not a requirement.)

It seems to me to be a contradiction to wish for a color-blind society. Vision requires a true perspective of all colors if possible. Any deviation from full vision is a weakness not a strength. Realism dictates fairness, not blindness to the problems.

' What's your point?'
Bush did not " celebrate" the SC decision.Get your facts straight before maligning the President.

"I applaud the Supreme Court for recognizing the value of diversity ..."
You're 100 percent correct. Mr. Bush did not "celebrate" the decision. He "applauded" it. How could I be so wrong? Shame on me for maligning this strong conservative President while having my facts so very, very wrong.

George W. Bush = Honesty and integrity both in politics and his personal life.
Marc Morial = Immorality (rumored to swing both ways), bribery (both giving & receiving), complete corruption, old style political machine and poverty pimping of World Class proportion! Morial is pure evil! That's why the DemonRATS love him and Republicans fear and despise him.

Morial: You can stop puckering up, Mr. President. I think you have already kissed a lot of behinds today.
