A Day in the Life of President Bush (photos): 7/28/03

Today, President Bush went to Pittsburgh to make remarks at the National Urban League conference, a group that represents black Americans. He said the U.S. economy is showing fresh signs of improvement. He urged Congress to approve languishing legislation to help low-income Americans and those having a hard time finding work.
Then later he greeted Ben Curtis, winner of the 2003 British Open, in the Oval Office of the White House in Washington. Curtis outlasted Tiger Woods and other champion golfers to win the tourney earlier this month.
Also today, President Bush signed the Burmese Freedom and Democracy Act. The legislation is supposed to send a message to the regime of Burma that the regime's continued detention of Aung San Suu Kyi and continued oppression of its people is unacceptable and cannot be allowed to stand.

I know I'm being selfish, but I wish we could have him for another 100 years .. I agree, Mo. We'll probably never have another entertainer and great American like him.

We'll probably never have another entertainer and great American like him. The way many in Hollywood are now?? .. No chance in that happening
It's sad .. when I was a kid, my mother never had to worry what I watched on TV .. it was normally movies like the ones Bob Hope made
Today ... it is safer for my children to watch the news then it is to watch the movies from Hollywood

My guess? Never.
It'll always grate on the libs. ANYTHING truthful will grate on them. They'll lie, cheat, lie, cheat...whatever it takes to make them look good. (they don't, but they're too stupid to know that)

Thanks, Dr. Deb, for posting that good news about the Prez' ratings. I have been feeling a little depressed with all the negative press which is inescapable even though I try.
I kind of agree with Ann Coulter in that the vicious anti-Bush, anti-American criticism by the left which is published and promoted without scrutiny in most of the press hurts our position in Iraq and encourages the resistance there to think we may give up if they keep the pressure on.
And the scary thing is, they don't seem to care, as long as they can hurt Bush.

Larry King had a Bob Hope tribute tonight. It was great. For guests, he had Art Linkletter, Wayne Newton, Connie Francis, and Jane Russell. Nancy Reagan phoned in for a few minutes. They spoke of Bob's friendship with Republican Presidents. Then a caller called in and asked the panel who they thought was Mr. Hope's favorite President. Art Linkletter said that Hope was clearly a Republican in his philosopy and thinking, but he tried to be diplomatic and say that Hope liked all of the President's that he befriended. Then, someone (I think Larry King) said, "I think his favorite was Reagan," and Linkletter replied, "Yeah, it was probably Reagan. He was certainly my favorite." At which point the feisty Jane Russell pointed her finger at the camera and said, "That was when EVERYONE in Hollywood was Republican!" It was great commentary from a great group of distinguished Americans.
