Someone lit up a cigarette and in response, Mayor Mikey Bloomberg closed down several blocks so as to minimize the effects of the second hand smoke and Gov. R. Pataki dispatched the National Guard.

The police have closed off 5th Ave between 41st & 42nd. I work on 42nd street and there are lots of police, ambulances and noise. One man told me it was a man with a bomb and another said it was three men. I finally asked a police officer and he said it was just a bomb scare. Still very noisy and confused.
