Maybe I'm stepping out on a limb here, but I can't think of a more deserving person for a full honors burial at Arlington as Bob Hope, even if he never served in the military he was hands down one of the best friends the US military ever had.

I would certainly agree that Hope ought to be honored with burial at Arlington, but having never served in the military myself, I don't think it's my place to say.

He was made an honorary U.S. Veteran, by Pres. Clinton, no less.
I believe he's the only civilian deemed an honorary Veteran.

I have to agree with you on that statement. I have heard that he tried to enlist during the WWII and was asked to keep doing what he was doing.

His daughter, Linda, said when they asked Bob where he would like to be buried, he said "Surprise me!" Your suggestion of Arlington would be perfect!
