Rest in peace, Bob.
You're gone, but will not be forgotten.
To: cav68
Now he and pal Crosby are together at that great golf course in the sky...... Bob had a good long run... and we will always love him!
To: MoJo2001
Thank you providing the link and the song. Is that Dolores Hope singing with him?

That is Shirley Ross from the movie they did together in 1938 I think.

What a gift from God, you were Mr. Bob Hope. You will always and forever be remembered so fondly in our hearts and spirits. Thank you so much for lifting the spirits of our great men and women who sacrifice day in and day out, year after year, after year. I am in awe! God Bless You, Rest in Peace.

True, they tend to be tunnelvisioned and choleric in nature. But he had such a great sense of the humor of it all, it must have softened his harshness if there was indeed any there.

(I agree with Dick Morris, "Off with their heads" Let's start with the Clintons, all 3 of them.)

Why is God taking Bob Hope away from us but is letting Alec Baldwin and Janeane Garofolo live? The passing of Hope, and the comparison of him to today's America-bashing "stars" makes this passing even more poignant.
My great uncles thank Hope for entertaining them during WWII...this is a sad day for America.
I hope Bush signs a proclamation allowing Hope to be buried at Arlington as a fitting tribute to a larger than life American.

Very probable, since Bob did only one show at Kadena Air Base for the entire island. In a time when we were ashamed to wear the uniform in public, Bob Hope put his life on the line for the boys in fatigues. I'll always treasure the man.

He took a long time to perfect his stage persona. Being "natural" is a hard thing to learn, and most entertainers never master it.

Hope was such a suave, debonair soul who refused to allow you to dwell on your troubles when he was around. May your life be an example for many to live by in your absense, R.I.P.

,,, Bob Hope gave me a few good laughs. God rest his soul.
To: Severa
His daughter, Linda, said when they asked Bob where he would like to be buried, he said "Surprise me!" Your suggestion of Arlington would be perfect!

I hope the President orders flags to be hung at half mast in honor of this great patriot. I just heard on Fox News that President Bush ordered the flag to be flown at half-staff on the day of his burial.
To: laweeks
Nope, all gone. We are left with wannabes.
To: mwyounce
Excellent news and the right thing to do...Thank you for letting me know.
To: laweeks
Sadly, not many are left. He had a ton of talent and class...RIP, Mr. Hope!
