Captain Dale Dye (USMC, Ret.) said last weekend that his sources on the ground say that Coalition-trained Iraqi militia will be taking on patrol/police duties within 60 days.
I'd salute these Iraqis if I could. Good for them. I wish them luck. I am tired of hearing Iraqis complaining that they are paralyzed with fear of ghosts and worrying that we won't hold them by the hand forever. Hopefully there will be more that decide to make their own future.

Read the article, especially liked reading ""I tell my troops every day that what we're doing is every bit as important as World War II," says one colonel, a brigade commander, in the 101st."
I believe thats very true. Thank-you for posting it..

Dennis Prager is hot on this article today.
Especially about Gigot calling the bluff of a Washington Post reporter's
take on things.
And Gigot's jabs at OUR State Dept. are being discussed.
I saw a version of the Gigot(WSJ) vs. The Washington Post on Saturdays
evening news by NBC and CBS.
NBC (Brokaw) gave a modestly optimistic report about US military stocking the pharmacy
and assisting in getting a pediatric clinic running; CBS found all the Iraqis p-ssed
at the USA they could and then gave them "open mic night".

(he was)
He nearly had a conniption when the Republicans failed to back Clinton's War, which of course, was based on a lie.

The new Centcom boss, Gen. John Abizaid, is now correcting that mistake by recruiting a 14,000-man Iraqi security force. He's helped by division commanders who are adapting their own tactics in order to win local support and eventually be able to turn power back over to Iraqis. yep, Rumsfeld was right all along ...rto
