Toyota's already in the NASCAR truck series, soon to enter the NEXTEL CUP cars.
Honda can't be that far behind!

Do you want to claim him as a sibling?Nah, I already have 3 brothers,
I don't think Ma can handle any more.
But another sister may help balance things out a little.

I'm currently trying to buy an original '69 Mercury Marauder X100 429 - it's in an estate, negotiating with the whole family is a bitch

Been there, done that.
1967 Ford Mustang, fastback, red paint, 289 V8.
Ford ahould start building modern replicas.
They'd be so flooded with orders, they wouldn't have time to figure out what to
do with the excess profits.
And after the current reborn Thunderbird fiasco, this time they can do it right.

thanks for the graphic...just beautiful, although that 1967 fastback is my idiosyncratic
favorite...maybe it was those sets of louvers on the rear part of the roofline...
Oh, if forgot to mention one of my guilty pleasures...in case others haven't found it yet:

a website dedicated to pure machine lust -- for the Mustang, the car and for
the Mustang, the plane.

Yes but I think they are put together in Rochester NY, that was part of the deal. We get the benefit af having them built by poorly trained upstaters so we can repair them over-and-over before they go into service (New York creating jobs again).

American car: built by Ford or GM, majority domestic content, designed & assembled in US, Canada or maybe mexico. generally under-rated, good quality and with excellent operating costs.
Foreign car
built by mfr. other than GM or Ford, can be designed, manufactured or assembled here & it's still foreign. usually highly over-rated, high initial and operating costs.
Giving up our domestic auto industry is one of my biggest gripes. it really bugs me that so many people think they're too good to buy products made here by their family, friends and neighbors. it also bugs me that foreign car buyers always act like they're superior to those of us (the majority of car buyers) that patronize american manufacturers.
You expect that attitude from european car drivers... they're generally snobs and european cars are just loaded with snob appeal (most of the sticker price of the average euro car is for snob appeal). But increasingly, jap car owners are starting to act like the euro-snobs, especially honda drivers.
That gets a chuckle from me because, from personal experience, hondas are perhaps the most over-rated car there is. I don't know a single honda owner that has had less trouble in the first couple of months with their new honda than I've had in 8 years out of my "new" Ford.
