MS, I don't think most of us have a problem with gay people per se, its the GAYSTAPO who want to shove what is merely a preference down our throats. Most of my gay coworkers (with the exception of the a--holes I worked at during my brief stint at Starbucks) fit the description of your coworker, albeit few have been conservative.
Personally, the whole "marriage" issue annoys me because: 1. The few Gays who want such unions want "weddings" not marriages but most importantly 2. WHY SHOULD THE GOVERNMENT BE IN THE MARRIAGE BUSINESS ANYWAY! For Gays OR straights!
Huffington was a joke as a candidate, although he almost squaked by DiFi in a Republican landslide year.

I like the point about the "gaystapo", which is a group for whom I have NO respect. But more and more gays are becoming "conservative" voters; I think it's part of the growing up process and accepting different viewpoints from one's own. I have no problems with gay people who don't want to shove their sexual issues in my face (the same is true of straights who brag about their sexual conquests). The point is, I don't want to talk about MY sex life and I don't want to hear about anybody else's, especially at work.
