Gotta LOVE the dedication of middle America...notice the "No Donations" signs...not looking for a hand-out like here in Boston.

Where is Mishawaka?
To: Ayn Rand wannabe
First line of the story reads: Donna West studied the area of her Indiana map between her daughter's home in Bristol and some of her grandkids' town of Merrillville.

Ah, thank you. I go to school in Terre Haute... just wondering. There are so many towns to keep track of!

"I've been spit at and had some things thrown at me and I've seen the famous finger from time to time..."Democrat respect for the elderly. They promise to keep her Social Security in a lock box and help her and love her and feel her pain...
As long as she meekly follows their party line, remains a victim and votes Democrat.

Mishawaka Cavemen
I went to school at ND and could never tell where South Bend, Mishawaka and Elkhart began and ended.

We're in SW Michigan, but it's tempting to drive down for the day with my boys to at least shake her hand and thank her.

Thanks for the ping SAM.
Bless her heart, I hope folks thank her for her service, too.

"I don't care what your politics are," she continues, "you should at least support our troops in Iraq and elsewhere." The difficulty is that some people's politics consist of dissing their country and those who defend it. Ann Coulter's newest book "Treason" gives examples by the bushel basket full. Many of them are or were nationally prominent members of the Democratic Party elite, or overpaid Hollyweird types, desparate for another minute in the lights.

Wow - amazing this story made the South Bend Tribune. My folks still live in the area and my dad is always grousing about the radical liberal slant to the paper.
