This article by Charles Krauthammer should be framed and emblazoned upon the forehead for every liberal and Democrat, too, to remind them what's REALLY going on with the media, the continuing liberation of Iraq, not to mention the effective of President Bush in the war on terrorism in that part of the globe and otherwise.
As Mr. Krauthammer so eloquently puts it (and so plainly, I might add).....The fact that the Democrats and the media can't seem to let go of it (the infamous "16 words"--or whatever the exact count was in the president's state of the union speech way back when), however, is testimony to their need (and ability) to change the subject. From what? From the moral and strategic realities of Iraq. The moral reality finally burst through the yellowcake fog with the death of the Hussein Brothers, psychopathic torturers who would today be running Iraq if not for the policy enunciated by President Bush in that very same State of the Union address.
That moral reality is a little hard for the left to explain, given the fact that it parades as the guardian of human rights and all-around general decency, and rallied millions to try to prevent the very policy that liberated Iraq from Uday and Qusay's reign of terror.
Then there are the strategic realities. Consider what has happened in the Near East since Sept. 11, 2001.....

This is an excellent article, but it comes from the Washington Post and should be excerpted, per terms of the settlement agreement in the lawsuit.

Our so-called media in this country reminds me of a dog chasing its own tail - dizzying silliness.
Note: Dog tail end = Democrats.

Newbie, he'll learn. Excellent article.

This is a good addition to the comments last week by Mark Steyn who said, "In 2001, the Islamists killed thousands of Westerners in New York and Washington. In 2002, they killed hundreds of Westerners, but not in the West itself, only in jurisdictions like Bali. In 2003, they killed dozens not Westerners, but their co-religionists in Morocco and Saudi Arabia. The Bush cordon sanitaire has been drawn tighter and tighter." We are winning. But the Democrats would prefer that we lose (so they can have a campaign issue next year).

...it is Bill Clinton who injected a note of sanity.
Now there's a first.

They can't let it go because it's all they got!

Only becuase it serves his purposes. The Congressional 911 report "indictment" was really about failures in the 1993-2000 alphabet soup agencies. Who was in charge from 1993-2000?
George Bush was in charge of his administration 21 months and still didn't have all of his permenant appointees approved by the Senate when the WTC and the Pentegon was hit. Afterward, George Bush actually did something after someone attacked the WTC unlike Bill Clinton who was too busy felling one's pain.
This "note of sanity" is all about Bill's "legacy" and that legacy is three smoking holes in the USA.

Thanks for posting ! Krauthammer not only writes eloquently, he speaks eloquently as well. Only wish that he & Michael Barone could replace some of the panel regulars on Special Report with Brit as well as some of the regulars (i.e. JUAN ) on Fox News Sunday.

Not even 21 months, try 8+. He was inagurated in January that year after a delay in getting his staff installed.
I think it's amazing that the media that says it's "Clinton's military" that defeated the Iraqi's, deny that it was Clinton's Intelligence services that caused 9/11 and Iraq war 2.0.

My bad, I keep getting tripped up on the 2000 Election year / 20001 1st year of Presidency factoid. Many pardons. It just underlines the point that it's really Bill Clinton's ball that Bush is carrying. Talk about assuming the transgressions of another!
As for Clinton's military, all the military personel that hadn't been laid off or had their funding zeroed out by Clinton was in the desert. So yes, it was Clinton's military...

You're absolutely correct. It's the dog days of summer in DC. They have nothing else to talk about except Niger yellowcake. Pathetic. Anyway, most of the news shows I've seen on cable this week have talked about nothing but Kobe.

So yes, it was Clinton's military...
Not from the reports I have seen on TV. Almost all the soldiers fighting have enlisted since 9/11 some specificly because of 9/11. These guys, The Worlds Best Military have nothing to do with Clinton except for some of the mid range officers. The top brass, save a couple, are Bush appointees. The men pulling the triggers are all Bush's Best, God Bless'em.

True, we are winning it,but the WoT won't be complete until we take out the twin nests of evil--SaudiArabia and Paksitan.

My wife emailed me that Rush stated that all of Saddam's bodyguards have been apprehended in Tikit. It could mean we may "Bag Dad" very soon. The idea of Saddam being without his bodyguards and his sons, he's more exposed than Arnold's behind in "Terminator 3."

I also heard that Rush commented that Christopher Hitchens is just back from Iraq, and he's fuming because all that is being portrayed on the news by the US media regarding our rebuilding of Iraq are lies. Bush should name Hitchens director of public affairs for the State Department. I'd love to see him taking on the leftist appeasor media on a daily basis.
