We forgot the ultimate chick flick, a horrid book made into a horrid movie which inspired a bland figure skating routing that wound up being the biggest story of the 2002 Olympics:
Love Story

Agreed. LS is the ultimate chick flick. It's just been so long ago that few really remember it.
Managed to catch "the Story of Seabiscuit" on TCM Saturday. Starring Shirley Temple and Barry Fitzgerald. Of course they took great liberties with the story but it worked ok. One of Temple's last movies (she didn't translate well into adult roles. I kept seeing curly top whenever she was speaking) and always a pleasure to see Fitzgerald.
The best part however was the captured newsreal footage of seabiscuit himself.
(And who's being unproductive?! :^) )

Saw the movie on Saturday... fantastic! Not a chick flick at all.
And looked for all the things this reviewer carped and complained about. Never saw them! I don't think she saw the movie at all.
Oh, well... why let that get in the way!! LOL!
