Ann Coulter is a hit, even in small towns!

Today was a day to make a FReeper happy. Mainly, me.

I live in a SMALL Texas town (in fact, microscpoic just about describes it). We have to travel 10 miles to a semi-sufficent town just for groceries.

Anyway, at the Wal-mart(not a super-center) in this town, I was looking through the small book section; and lo and behold, Ann Coulter's book was there! On the shelf unit, there was room for about 6 books the width of Ann's. There were only two left.

I picked one up off the shelf and started reading it. I tell you, it was awesome! I read about 5 or so paragraphs, and it totally blew me away.

Sadly, I didn't have the $18.85 they wanted for the book, so I had to put it down. However, I did notice something especially nice: Living History *gagchokehurlvomit* was also on the shelf--in overstock. There were about 10 copies, and not one had been bought. To make it sweeter, someone had turned the first copy over so the back would face us. I don't blame whoever did it. I hate seeing that ugly mug, too.

Ah, sweet victory! Just goes to show that America is tired of the Clintoons, and the stupid liberals that exist in this country. One thing's for sure--the second I get $20, I'm buying TREASON!!!

I really am gonna buy TREASON. If you haven't bought/read it yet, please, go get it!! It's awesome, and I can barely wait to read the whole thing!

When it first came out I bought 3 copies, just to give away and get ahead of Hillary. While Ms. Coulter goes a little easy on McCarthy, she pretty much gets it right. I read Treason and understood completely what she was saying. I am reading Wm.Buckley's "The Readhunter" and in the first 50 pages or so, it looks like he is going to have close to the same take on McCarthy as Ms. Coulter does. I expect that Buckley will dock McCarthy a few points for delivery (e.g. Roy Cohn), but will agree that the message was essentially correct.

I am not too far into Buckley's book, and it may end differently than it appears in the early going, but one of Coulter's points is that Joe McCarthy was the Ken Starr of his day: Each did his job well, but his job was contra to the feelings of the elite, and each was and will be crucified in the press and history books on account of it. I expect that Buckley (who lived through the McCarthy era) will agree.
