Gentle prodding worked for me. They are used to a fight so it's a matter of not fighting with them. Instead, point out to them web sites that show support for President Bush and for conservatism in general. There is a free republic web ring but I'm still trying to work my way through it. Lots of freepers and other conservatives have their own web sites because they so believe in President Bush and the GOP.
The conservative movement is huge and don't your dem friends ever tire of all the negativity and opinions disguised as facts from the DNC?
Talk in sound bites backed by careful research instead of getting into circular discussions with your dem friends.
Last but not least, send them to my web site. I don't attack dem voters, just DNC tactics. See tag line. I need some interaction over there. The Feedback Form is at the bottom of my home page.

Bush is hell bent on supporting and rewarding illegal immigration.
My neighbor owns a small business. He employs three men fulltime. His company mows lawns for a living.
My best friend is a Democrat.
She is livid about illegal immigrants.
And you think people will rally around GWB while he welcomes the illegals and alienates the silent majority of non-partisan voters?
He better cough up a palatable explanation for his ghastly position on this issue besides "compassion", or he is in serious jeapordy next year.
I am very serious about this FV, GWB cant be so naive as to think the TV media crap about Nigerian uranium is an issue to the USA street, can he?
The election is his to lose, and so far, he will lose it.
Because he refuses to represent the will of the majority of the people of the USA on what the majority of the grassroots see as the number one domestic agenda for the federal government. The maintenance of the USA as a free and sovereign country.
Kudos to him for his leadership on the WOT.
People who want him to continue, better start praying he can talk his way out of open borders and the furthor degredation of the lifestyles of the poor and honest.

* The problem is that these Dem voters are blissfully unaware of the voting records of their candidates and representatives. All they go by are finely crafted campaign statements issued during the last few weeks before the election where they pay homage to FDR, Truman and JFK. As a result, these dopey Dem voters (like my friends and their parents) continue voting for these candidates thinking they are voting for FDR/JFK-like candidates. Here is a tool I use all the time to check folks voting record out:
American Conservative Union's
Annual Rating of Congress
ACU has rated every member of the House and Senate since 1971. Click here for archived ratings prior to 1999. As the definitive conservative rating listed in all major political almanacs and reference guides, the ACU ratings are often quoted by the media and are extensively used by political strategists and candidates running for public office.
