NEW YORK - Contrary to media reports that the Bush Road Map proposes to create a Palestinian Arab state in the year 2005, the Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) points out that the plan, in fact, calls for establishing such a state within five months, by the end of this year.
"Phase II" of the Road Map plan, which is defined as ending in December 2003, includes "creation of an independent Palestinian state with provisional borders". Those "provisional" borders are to become "final, permanent" borders in Phase III of the plan, which is defined as ending in 2005.
ZOA National President Morton A. Klein said: "Many media reports have erroneously stated that the Bush plan is to create a Palestinian Arab state in 2005. This has lulled some people into a false sense of security, thinking that there will be two more years in which Palestinian Arab actions can be assessed before the final step of statehood is taken. In fact, the Bush plan is to create a state by the end of this year-- long before it will be possible to determine if the Palestinian Arabs are sincerely fighting terrorism and ready to live in peace with Israel. We urge the Bush administration, the Israeli government, and the Quartet to postpone any decision regarding Palestinian Arab statehood until at least 2005 so there will be time to see if the Palestinian Arabs have really given up terrorism."
1.Israel--we do pay them over 3$ Billion a year in TAXPAYER Money, plus load them down with whatever weapons they want.
Let's say this $3 billion per year were just foreign aide, what does Israel do with that money? It turns around and makes purchases from the U.S. with it. This supports our defense contractors and other businesses in the U.S. I belive some if not all of this money is in the form of guaranteed loans, not outright grants. Israel pays off those loans.
2. No. But our support for Israel will not win us any Arab friends.
As someone else stated, who has been more friendly with Saudi Arabia than us? When we found out that their nationals took our Trade Center down, we still treated the government with respect, even after we found out that members of the royal family had funded some of the terrorists. So please, explain to us what cordial relations with the Arab world has gained us except spite and hatred.
3. Egypt did not attack Israel in 1967. Israel attacked Egypt on June 5, 1967 and launched a strike against their airfields.
While some theories state that Israel baited the attack against their nation in 1967, it's poppycock to state that Israel attacked without provocation. It simply didn't happen that way.
4. Jordan had a mutual defense treaty with Egypt.
What was more important is that they shared a hatred for Israel. Neither had recognized it and both swore to destroy it. Syria, Jordan and Egypt attacked Israel, not the other way around.
5. The British had Transjordan--Palestine and Jordan. Neither the British nor the Jordanians acted towards the Palestinian population in the harsh manner that the
Israelis do.
Jordan expelled all Palestinians from it's territory when they tried to take over it's government, so I think it's a little bit of a white obfuscation to state Israel has treated the Palestinians worse than the Jordanians. Israel occupied the West Bank and Gaza because terrorism was eminating from those territories. Israel tried to implement autonomy in those territories and was thanked by the Israeli armed West Bank and Gaza police turning their guns on Israel. Terrorist homicide bombings have been the icing on the cake.
6. The British turned over the territory to the UN because of Jewish Terrorism, from such men as Begin and Yitzhak Shamir.
There were skirmishes that were instigated by both sides. I'm not going to characterize either based on the media's reports, because I recognize the media to be so lopsided against Israel that's it's foolish to use them as a source to damn Israel. I do know of one incident where the Palestinians captured an elementary school full of children, then attempted to use them as hostages for blackmail. I believe many of those children died, but my memory may be faulty on that. You didn't mention Palestinian complicity in any wrongdoing at any time did you. Why was that?
You're spewing propaganda without providing a single link to the source of all this excrementitious mendacity.
So, provide some actual links to back up your allegations.
Here's a hint: linking any site that contains screechy diatribes by Michael Hoffman or Israel Shahak or Noam Chomsky will not only show you to be a liar, but get you ZOTTED.
electronicintifada.com, globalpolicy.org and washington-report.org are not well respected around here either.
Now go forth and document your claims, or I will laugh at you again.
But you do have net access, or you wouldn't be posting on Free Republic. Or are those other sites blocked by your company's firewall because they are considered "racist hate sites"?
Israel helped train and arm the Palestinian police in order to give the West Bank and Gaza more autonomy. When the peace accord in 2000 was rejected, those police officers turned their guns on Israel. Suicide bombings commenced even before that.
It's laughable to read comments from a person that doesn't understand why Israel would re-enter the West Bank terrorist camps. Yes, why would Israelis assassinate terrorist organizers? Why would Israel level the homes of suicide bomber's families? Why would Israel level the structures used to manufacture suicide bombs? And why would Israel set up checkpoints? I mean shouldn't they just allow the suicide bombers free access?
What's wrong bud, did someone shut down your nice NAZI hollocaust denying site, leaving you with no place to play?
Maalot, 1974. The Palestinians murdered their hostages as the IDF attempted to perform a rescue operation. Similar to the massacre at the '72 Munich Olympics (and we know who was the Team Lead for that project)
Murdering civilians inside Israel is more acceptable to you than some Jews living next door to Palestinians? Do you think the Palestinians are entitled to have a "Jew Free" state like the other 22 Arab nations? Is that not racist?
