[history]
GEORGE W. Bush's job approval ratings are dropping a point every other week. Most polls now have his support down in the high or mid-50s. Pollster John Zogby has them at 53 percent - a huge drop from the low 70s he was registering just two months ago. The lower Bush drops, the more likely it is that Hillary Clinton runs for president in 2004. She and her husband cannot permit a Democrat not named Clinton to beat Bush in '04. If one does, she can't run in '08 against an incumbent Democratic president. She'd have to wait until 2012, by which time she would be 65 and out of the White House for 12 years. The weaker Bush gets, the more likely a Hillary Clinton candidacy becomes.

He is often wrong. But I think he is right on this. He is speaking on his knowledge of their character, and that is one issue I think he understands.
To: presidio9
Why do you think Clinton came out the other night supporting Bush? He's cutting the legs out from under the other Dems who've been bashing him on Iraq.

Hill runs.
Hill can run.
Run Hill, run.
See Hill run.
To: presidio9
Once Hitlery announces she'll run watch our President's poll numbers start rising through the roof again!
To: presidio9
Hillary won't run because she will lose, it's that simple.

I agree. Elections always coming down to choosing between two candidates. In the end, Pres. Bush will stand up well against any competitor.
To: presidio9
What is the last possible date she can announce she will run?

"Once Hitlery announces she'll run watch our President's poll numbers start rising through the roof again!" And Dubyas campaign war chest promptly double to $400 Million....should be great to fund all those house / senate GOP candidates

Bring her on. GOP fundraising will go through the roof. She will carry NY, Calif, etc... but GW will beat her handily. He would get huge coattails out of it too.

She'll be in court defending herself against conspiracy charges.
And her husband killed the base with his phone call supporting Bush.
To: presidio9
But just think of it. Hillary steps down from her Senate seat, runs for prez, loses, and we're finished with the Klintoons forever! 2004 can not come too soon.
To: God luvs America
But, but, she LIED TO THE PEOPLE OF NEW YORK STATE SAYING SHE WOULD FINISH OUT HER TERM AS SENATOR!!
To: mtbopfuyn
Does she have to set down from her Senate seat to run for President, or can she double-dip like Lieberman did in '00?
If so, that's one more pick-up for our side. Pataki will appoint a Republican to fill her spot.
To: presidio9
A thought just came to me...
What if the president wants his numbers to drop, so as to lure Hitlery out to run sooner rather than later?
After all, Bush would surely defeat her in a 2004 race - 2008 would be less certain at the moment (a lot can happen over the course of 4-5 years). Perhaps he would like to confront Hillary now, so as to weaken her.
Like I said, it's just a thought.

Dick is so reliable in getting his Democrat/Socialist agenda tucked into his message. He states some good points but then sneaks in the Medicare prescription package.
