The Casey's in general stayed left PA gunowners alone, but yes, as Democrats, their fiscal policies are socialist. A Casey would have been less stupid and Davis-like as governor of PA than Rendell.
Yes, I'm very glad the PA legislature stood up to Rendell on the budget. While I cautiously hope that the PA legislature will makes this newest piece of Gestapo crap die, there is no way I'm trusting Rendell, because I see nothing trustworthy about him.
The worst part is Rendell will probably scarf up the union vote again. Shame Fisher lost. I know the Shweiker famly better than the Casey's. My family and the Shweikers go way back and I have a lot of respect for the family in general. Mark seems to be cut from the same cloth. While I was angry he didn't run for governor in order for PA to keep a Republican.
I'm not too worried about this going through, it's the fact that he's trying it that gets me. He's a crappy governor and only our legislature protects us from him.
i always suspected that the Republican party (i have no inside info, being a Libertarian), had bigger plans for Shweiker than the Govenor's Mansiion. Yes he would have easily beaten the teamster thug from Philly, but Arlen Spector (in honor of his Scottish Law comment, a local DJ around here calls him 'Angus MacSpincter')may or may not be ready to hang it up, and as much as i like his challenger for the Republican nod, he ain't no Mark Schweiker, who already has favourable national exposure as a leader and a good crisis manager. i suspect that we haven't heard the last of Gov. Schweiker.
