PS Thanks for the traffic your sites sends to the USO Canteen Post Office

I have had several people mention your site to me. It has been helpful to people who want to send things to the troops.

ABNER!! How are you? I love the new balloon as much as the first one.

We are doing well. Having a blast! A little to hectic for too much FReeping though. 2 balloons, double the work! I'm not complaining though.

Here is a 1970 Plymouth Duster with an itty-bitty (?) super turbocharger under the hood. Is this the right color for your Dart?

Wow! Thank you! I am honored!

However, I think I'll wait on that burka until I have a bad hair day...;o)

I see on your profile page you were stationed in Meridian. I met my hubby while he was in flight school at McCain Field in 1970.

Thank you for your service.;o)

Wisconsin buries a citizen soldier
Allen Powell II, Star Tribune

Published July 24, 2003 GABR24

SPOONER, WIS. -- Sgt. Dan Gabrielson was the guy you went to when you needed something done. Quietly confident, he was always a leader whether he was building a fence or leading a unit in the desert, friends and family members said.

"He was the go-to guy," said Vanessa Gabrielson, 20, Dan's oldest daughter. "He was always there to help everybody."

Late Wednesday morning, mourners filled Trinity Lutheran Church in Spooner for the funeral of the Army Reserve veteran who was killed in Iraq earlier this month. Relatives and friends gathered in the church's small, sunken sanctuary -- overflowing into an outside amphitheater -- to honor a man who was described as a family man and a hero.
(snip)
Gabrielson, 41, of Frederic, Wis., was killed when the convoy he was traveling in was hit by a rocket-propelled grenade about 120 miles north of Baghdad. Two other soldiers were wounded in the attack.

Gabrielson repaired construction equipment for the 652nd Engineer Company, based in Ellsworth, Wis., and was riding in the last vehicle in the convoy during the attack, said Brig. Gen. Michael Beasley, commanding officer of the 88th Regional Support Command, of which the company is a part.

Hey, UB!!!! Great to see you hear, welcome to the Canteen!!

Hey guys, come meet UglyBiker, he's a fellow Arizonan and Vet...one of the really good guys!

Looks like he beat me to posting the scenery, today. Correct me if I'm wrong, but let's see...the pic of the project car is looking down the Verde valley towards I-10...generally...and the lower picture is back towards Mingus Mountain, over which is Prescott. Right?

This sounds like either Will Rogers, Mark Twain, or H. L. Mencken!

MRC-87 Radio Set installed on a M151-A2 Jeep, Circa 1981

TRC-75 HF radio located in rear seat compartment

It is a 1KW HF SSB radio built by Collins in the early '60s. The TRC-75 uses ARC-58 radio components and is a component of both the MRC-83 & MRC-87 sets. (ARC-58 black boxes also show up in the TSC-15 "Communications Central" radio shelter and many ARC-58 modules are used in the URC-32.)

The MRC-83 and the MRC-87 were similar - one carried an ARC-55 UHF AM radio as well as the TRC-75 and was mounted in an M-170, and the other (TRC-75 only setup) was mounted in an M-38A1.

Both the -83 & -87 sets used the same PP-2352 power supply (mounted in a watertight box below the TRC-75) to produce 115 V 400~ 3ph power, and both required a _large_ alternator setup. Both sets use a 32' fiberglass whip for fixed ops or just the top 16' of the whip for mobile ops.
