ABU DHABI (Reuters) - Iraq's former Information Minister Mohammed Saeed al-Sahaf said Wednesday the deaths of Saddam's two sons would not end anti-U.S. attacks, insisting they were not directly behind them.
"The two men were hidden and were not in a position to resist or lead a resistance. Their situation was limited, they were imprisoned," Sahaf, nicknamed "Comical Ali" during the U.S.-led war, told Abu Dhabi television.
Sahaf said attacks on U.S. forces that took place after the killing of Uday and Qusay Tuesday proved that the brothers had no active role in attacks against U.S.-led occupying forces.
U.S. officials are hoping the deaths of Uday and Qusay will ultimately help silence guerrillas who have killed 41 American soldiers since Bush declared major combat over on May 1.
The former Iraqi official, famous for his repeated denials that U.S. troops were in Baghdad in spite of the evidence, said the deaths of the brothers was a "negative thing" but added the two had committed many wrong doings and behaved recklessly.
"Uday and Qusay took actions, I think, many of which alienated a lot of Iraqis from them and from the regime as a whole. Sons of officials can not behave this way," Sahaf said.
U.S. forces killed Uday and Qusay in a six-hour gunbattle in northern Iraq Tuesday.
Sahaf, who turned himself in to U.S. forces and was later released, came to the United Arab Emirates this month, saying he might not return to his homeland. His specific whereabouts are undisclosed and he remains inaccessible to the public.

I believe that Comical Ali has many misfortunes in his future. When he was an ambasador to some Scandanavian country, some opponents of the Saddam regime met their fate under suspicious circumstance. Comical Ali has a jail cell in his future. He just plain doesn't know the number as yet.

So, who do you trust more for your news, Bagdad Bob or Walter Crankcase? History shows there is not a gnat's hair of difference between the two - Walter was just more subtle in his propaganda.

unfortunately, John Loftus says almost the same thing. He says Iran is behind much of the guerilla tactics. We'll know within 2 weeks.

Their demise is more of a morale issue than anything else. If God let us kill them, then maybe God isn't on their side.
