Let me make myself clear on one thing: I assume no responsibility if reading the posts there causes your eyes to bleed.

I've chastized them on LP for constantly bashing FR. Many agree with me there. That doesn't mean that there aren't a few hardcore anti-FR types there. Maybe they'll chill out once their anger dies.

But, where do you think that people fairly or unfairly banned from FR should go? Do you not understand their anger and frustration at their perceived mistreatment?

I would hope that FR can peacefully co-exist with other conservative forums like LP - and try to work together to actually do something - instead of constantly sniping at each other and neutralizing our potential as a political force.

If someone at LP planned to come over here and disrupt, that would be wrong. Yet HouMatt was over there yesterday stirring things up and now he's inviting others to go over there and cause problems too.

LP should leave FR alone. FR should leave LP alone.

Call me a Pollyanna, I don't care. This internal bickering, sniping, and splintering is what hurts conservatives the most.

Perhaps I should have specified...

It would be best if the sites to engage in debate are ones moderated by fair-minded folks with an almost equal amount of sides of political opinion. The Metallica site works and it's about 30% conservative to 60% liberal-don't care. The Mods there aren't rabid creepshows like the ones at DU-h. I apologize and should have made that clear.

I hope to gain followers and enlighten the young and uninformed, not start hate-fests -which is usually what happens if the odds are too stacked against me.

Spiff, I agree with you completely.
Your words brought to mind a quote I have had on my profile page for a long time now:

"The slaves of power mind the cause they have to serve, because their own interest is concerned; but the friends of liberty always sacrifice their cause, which is only the cause of humanity, to their own spleen, vanity, and self-opinion."

- William Hazlitt (1778 - 1830)

You hit the nail on the head. My husband and I have been involved in conservative politics since 1971, and we are our own worst enemies, IMO.
