But it sounds like Askew and Davis knew each other all too well, as opposed to Fortuyn and the vegan.

Dead is Dead. Familiarity or not.

"This is the guy who was once against me, but now he's with me," Councilman Charles Barron quoted Davis as saying.

This appears to be a wake up call. So, was this MAN a socialist liberal D,rat or what?

What I meant was, this seemed like a highly personal situation, as opposed to a stranger murdering a politician for ideological reasons. It sounds like Askew just flat out hated Davis and had become obsessed with him. We'll hear more about that.

So, was this MAN a socialist liberal D,rat or what? Oh, I thought you knew. We only have three Republicans on the City Council, and they're all from Staten Island.

The 48 others are all Democrats, Very Liberal Democrats, Socialists, or Communists like Barron.

Davis was one of six or seven people to vote *against* the property tax increase, and was a former cop, and couldn't stand Gifford Miller, so I'd peg him as a regular Democrat.

Plus, I will always believe there was a conspiracy behind Fortuyn's assassination, no matter what they say.

I can't say that about Davis. He got taken off some cultural committee as revenge for voting against the tax increase, or so he claimed, but that was months ago and it seems to have been the extent of the punishment (Gifford Miller is a very petty man, as is Bloomberg). He made some enemies getting elected, and one of them killed him today, but I really think it's about more than the campaign. Call it a hunch.
