Rick Leventhal is now reporting that the shooter shot Davis and then a plainclothes policeman killed the shooter.
Both the shooter and Davis is dead.

According to MSNBC's website that has probably been updated since the last time I looked at it 45 minutes ago, the manhunt was launched because it wasn't clear at the time if the other dead guy was the one who shot Davis.
