A small blaze erupted Tuesday night in the Capitol office of one of Gov. Gray Davis' staffers, forcing the evacuation of staffers who had apparently planned to burn the midnight oil when something else ignited.
Firefighters were called at 10:21 p.m. to the east side of the Capitol by reports of light smoke wafting from the staffer's office.

By The Associated Press SACRAMENTO, Calif. - A small fire broke out Tuesday night in the Capitol office complex of Gov. Gray Davis.
The fire burned about 15 square feet of ceiling tile around a light fixture in an office of a Davis staffer, Sacramento Fire Department Capt. Dave Whitt said.
``Right now it appears accidental, or an electrical malfunction,'' he said.
The flames, which were reported at 10:21 p.m., were quickly contained and no one was injured, Whitt said. The office was vacant at the time.
A limited session of lawmakers was evacuated.
Whitt estimated damage at less than $25,000 to the ceiling, floor and a computer.
It was not immediately clear where Davis was when fire engines arrived.

It's all part of the vast right wing conspiracy!
First Wellstone, now this! And I heard today Starr Jones is onto that Uday was killed a long time ago and "stored" for the news release yesterday to stop the "freefall" of Bush's poll numbers! /sarcasm
I wonder if the stupid gene is tied to the Democrat gene. They always seem to go together.
