"Whatever Gibson's intentions, the film will be perceived as anti-Semitic, because the Christian Bible holds that Jesus was a Jewish prophet rejected and betrayed by his own people."
What?

Christ does place himself in, and simultaneously above, the tradition of Jewish prophecy.
"He who receives a prophet because he is a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward"; "a prophet is not without honor except in his own country"; "This is the prophet Jesus from Nazareth of Galilee" etc.
Jesus describes himself as the one who sent the prophets and, obliquely, to his own prophetic mission.
The author errs in implying that the Christian Scriptures describe Jesus as only a prophet.
