Dollar General is a franchise, and we've got 'em every mile here in the DFW Mid-Cities area.
I prefer Big Lots, but you can get some great bargains at Dollar stores. Basic stuff.

Dollar stores (all versions) are great, Sometimes you find the identical product that other stores carry for more.
Granted some of the durability of the products is limited but they are easily replaceable.

I bought some kids' sandals for $5 at one of those dollar stores but they fell apart in less than 2 weeks. Payless sells better quality for only $3 to $4 more and they'll last over a year.
