Hon, I gave them their first play guns. Now that they live in Texas, it is okay. Elsewhere it is strongly disapproved of.

Not here (GA)! I'll bet we've got the best toy gun collection this side of the Mississippi!! LOL

Oh, and the good guys wear red and black cowboy hats (Go Georgia Bulldogs!), and they always win.

Someday we need a thread on what teachers and schools are doing to quell the warrior instinct. I saw it first hand with my born to be a soldier grandson, the bloodthirstiest kid I knew, a natural leader, loved to play war games, worshipped men in uniform and loved to hear war stories from me given to me by my father. He went to school and after a few weeks I was telling him about my second cousin who teaches men in the army to go down ropes while shooting,,,he is a ranger or something. Before school he would have been glued to the story dying to meet his soldier cousin. He looked very pained and said "I couldn't do that, it would be wrong to shoot people",,after explaining they were bad people trying to get us, he still wouldn't budge,,,his teacher has been teaching him pacifism. Now I don't want a criminal but kids need to know that soldiering and all it entails is honorable and worthy of emulating as grown ups. I think his teacher harmed him and it made me furious.
