EAGLE, Colorado (CNN) --Hearing NBA all-star Kobe Bryant deny the sexual assault charge filed against him made his accuser "sick to her stomach," a friend of the woman said Monday.
Bryant, an all-star guard for the Los Angeles Lakers, has been charged with one count of sexual assault. He has steadfastly maintained his innocence, and after the charge was announced Friday, he admitted having sex with his 19-year-old accuser but said the encounter was consensual.

When you mention Rita Cosby do not EVER forget the night the Supreme Court decision came down.I will never forget. I'm still recovering from the trauma!
To: Howlin
I think they can....look at Michael Jackson!

EVERYONE in the media etc. has been saying from the very beginning that she might be doing it for the money. Remember the things you and some others called her in some of these threads a couple days ago..?
Or do you still think it is because her daddy didn't like her having sex with a black man as you posted serveral days ago..????
To: PuNcH
A victim cant win with people like you no matter what they do. I want her to find justice if she really was raped. However, hiding makes her look like a liar.
By the way, you don't know me, so don't insult me.

Anyone who says they aren't doing it for the money are doing it for the money. Couldn't agree more.

Let's play "speculation":
This rather wounded soul brings Kobe his room service, he treats her nicely. She, being a bit sensitive, shows some signs of taking to him. He overestimates her emotional leaning, and takes it too far.

It sets the precedent that anyone can fling accusations and not be accountable for them. But it's a byproduct of the "blame the victim" mentality when it comes to rape crime.

However, what we do know at this MOMENT is that Kobe has a good rep He is faithful to his marriage vows anyway

I agree....except if the victim were a child!
To: lonestar
Agree. Plus, she waited 12 hours before notifying authorities. If she was positive in her own mind, wouldn't she have immediately called the law? Good question. Plus, why hide from the media? Why not expose the rapist on every TV show?

Was he criminally charged then?
The reason I asked is that somebody posted that he couldn't "bribe" her now that the charges had been brought.
I thought maybe you knew for sure.

"Plus, she waited 12 hours before notifying authorities. If she was positive in her own mind, wouldn't she have immediately called the law?" One would think so. Another thing - what's the timeline again on when they took the rape kit on her at the hospital? If there indeed was a rape and ejaculation, then that's a long time to expect the evidence to remain behind and not leak out.

Notice how the "friend" volunteers that she's not doing it for the money. WHO SAID ANYTHING ABOUT "MONEY???" Everyone. It's a friggin cliche.

This case will be ugly. It's Kobe versus the teenager. I haven't seen a story yet that says anyone else was in the room.
To: cyncooper
Unfortunately, every single time I see her now, that's all I can see.
Heck, I even find myself HOPING her "sources" are wrong so she will finally lose her job. :-)

I'm not sure now....but I thought the charges were dropped against Michael Jackson once he paid off the kids parents. I'm not saying this boy lied but as a parent of a little boy, it would be a cold day in hell for me to accept money as restitution from a person who molested my child. I'd want the SOB in jail at least!
To: Howlin
Kobe doesn't HAVE enough money to pay EVERY person in this case to be quiet. How about the hospital staff, the investigators, the "other" women, the body guards, possibly "any person who happened to stay in the hotel" that night.
The "blackmail" and "hush" money list would go on and on and on.
Lil wifely poo would MUCH rather have him in jail and her "half" of his money.
PLUS he doesn't have enough money to "buy off" the state if they want to prosecute.
