If people *actually* want to belong to something "bigger than themselves" they should try volunteering at a homeless shelter, or find a church to join, or join the Peace Corps or something. Or even get involved in Community musical activities. this kind of behavior is as mindless and meaningless as lemmings rushing to the sea. "something bigger", in a pig's eye.
