I'd rather live in my car than live in New York.

I might've thought this funny....when I was 10 years old.

Just me being 'me' .... but what an outstanding opportunity for some people to decide to change the 'mob' into an opportuntity to shoplift. Thus, when some people see others stealing, the mob will change from just a 'joke' to a mobile crime spree. Think of the store trying to stop a few hundred customers, each of whom has decided to walk off with merchanidise. Each member 'unknown' by others; and the whole mob dispersing without motive, cause or provocation before the police arrive.

It's too bad we still let these people vote.

This is straight out of the stories and novels of Bruce Sterling.
"Deep Eddy", "Bicycle Repairman", "Maneko Neki" and Distraction (all by Sterling) have similar events.

I'm not sure what to think about this..first thing that comes to mind is some people have waaaaaay to much time on thier hands.

One is planned for Thursday. I hope it's planned for City Hall Park - to coincide with the bars and restaurant employees and owners protest against the stat e and city smoking bans.

The Cacophony Society has been doing stuff like this - only far more inventive - in a number of cities for years. These losers are twenty years late to the party and not particularly inventive.

People have WAY too much time on their hands.

Reminds me of the flock of Latinos that swarm around when we have a yard sale. One minute it's quiet, the next there's 10 cars pulling up with 5 or 6 people in each. Moms with lots of kids, men and boys with their coworkers taking a break from work, I just start repeating the words, "One dollar, one dollar?, si, one dollar..."
And, if you're out going to the yard sales? If you run into this group, you'll be blessed with their company for the rest of the day. Wherever you go, they go... wherever they go, you go... It just works that way, there's nothing you can do to stop it.

"It's just stupid human fun," says Tom Griggs, a 34-year-old record label employee who showed up for the SoHo mob. This guy is a thief...the worst kind....
He has fun with someone else's intellectual property without renumeration.
His computer should be destroyed and he should be jailed.
