Washington's Gov. Gary Locke, a key Democrat, decides against bid for third term, cites family

OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) Gov. Gary Locke, chairman of America's Democratic governors, announced Monday that he won't seek a third term next year.

Locke, 53, the country's first Chinese-American governor and the Democrats' choice to answer President Bush's State of the Union Address last January, saying he reached the decision ''after much thought and careful deliberations with my family.''

He's such a nonentity, half the time I have a hard time even remembering his name.

The only question is whether the next governor will be an even worse 'Rat.

I'm surprised it took him so long...that reply was just plain ridicuous.. Maybe he just doesn't want to look like a fool anymore. Nothing lost, any good Republicans over there to take over next election?

Unless Chris Vance can arrange a miracle which I doubt, can you say Governor Phil Talmage? If this guy gets elected our state will not recover until 2012.

Yes. I sent a message to the admin to delete this thread. Then posted the story onto your thread. I guess they'll delete it sooner or later. Let's just let this one die and post to the other one. It's already longer.
