[history]
It was an otherwise quiet Saturday in the woods of Sussex County, when gunshots pierced the air. Again and again, all day long.
Girls with guns, females with firearms, women with weapons -- anyway you put it, there were a lot of armed women in the woods yesterday, and most of them had never touched a gun before.

Quick - who's the only person you can think of who is famous solely for being a marksman?

Yep. Annie Oakley.

Something that all ranges and gun organizations ought to consider doing.
Think about it, not simply from the immeadiate RKBA angle, but on the larger political field as well. The women's vote is a primary leg of the DimLeft powerbase. If we can get women to see that the DimLeft is dead wrong on this issue, that provides a salient for demonstrating that they are dead wrong on most issues. That MIGHT lead to women removing themselves from the DimLeft plantation, helping to produce, in turn, the DimLeft's loss of power.
Which DEFINITELY should be among a pro2Ammer's long-range goals.

Hathcock was a Marine first and a marksman second. I read that in
his book. (Hee hee - thanks for the straight line...I'll plug Whitefeather any day...)

To: Billthedrill
yes, but there have been millions of nameless, unknown, never-famous Marines... only one White Feather.
Famous for marksmanship alone.
Carlos Hathcock fits that bill.

A BTT - you might arguably throw in Boone, Crockett, and the like as well. But Annie was something very special.
To: Billthedrill
oh, I wouldn't dream of diminishing Annie Oakley's glory, but there have been a bunch of folks sporting external plumbing famous only for their marksmanship.
And Annie never got into a sniper duel, so yes - she was something special, but...

Maybe so, but he deserves even more fame for his heroic act that cost him his career, as well as years of pain.

I'll buy that.
Humans have finicky appetites for glory, though... the expensive kind that costs and hurts for years and isn't flashy doesn't go down easily.

Something that all ranges and gun organizations ought to consider doing. It is perfect, isn't it? Women like to meet and conspire against men and what better place than a shooting range?
Politics isn't as intellectual for most as it is among people on this forum. For most, it is social. You are born into a liberal family, everyone around you is liberal so you are liberal.
Getting women to the range can break that. Imagine ranges would be delighted with new customers. Perhaps FR chapters could organize a bunch of "Women's Days at the Range" on the same day across the country.
