The message of this cartoon is, simply, POLITICS IS BAD - BUSH IS INNOCENT - BUT POLITICS WANTS TO KILL HIM DESPITE HIS GOOD NATURE. They're doing everything but strapping him to the cross, for God's sake. Learn what the cartoon says before you attack it! Forgive the huge size, but I think it needs said.

It's still not very bright!  And we need bright, conservative people doing cartoons, not stupid ones, whether the cartoonist is truly bright or not!

Or, Ramirez is saying Iraq is a quagmire, like Vietnam, and the politics of it will destroy Bush. Who knows, which either means the cartoonist did not do his job well, or he did it very well and the cartoon is "thought provoking."

Having listened to the cries of "liar", "mis-leader", and "impeach" for the past month, there can be no doubt about what the left wants to do. This cartoon uses a famous propaganda photo as a vehicle to throw that back in their faces.

But it's too easy to take it at face value. The cartoonist is probably wishing he'd never turned this one in...

Given the fellow in the original picture was a Viet-cong who arguably deserved to die - in what sense is this a sympathetic cartoon?

I read it as "Bush got us in this mess...our boys are dying...Bush should pay the price!"

Look it up and then defend the cartoon.

Yeah, but wasn't the original photo from Vietnam an execution of a Viet Cong? They were the enemy. I think the cartoon is too suggestive and wait until it hits Iraq. I can see it on Saddam's fliers to get them to kill more troops. That cartoon will be misused because it's so suggestive.

thank you for post #161. I've been saddened to discover just how many completely-ignorant conservatives there are in this thread. I always kinda thought "we" were brighter than the idiot liberals, but sadly that doesn't apply to every conservative.
