Let's not forget the legacy of Mandela, who single-handedly turned a wealthy, Christian nation into an AIDS infested, crime-ridden Hell on Earth.

Let's not forget the legacy of Mandela, who single-handedly turned a repressive, racist nation into an apparently functional democracy in God-forsaken Africa.

Mandela can be quite unpalatable to Conservative tastes, but, please, give him the benefit of the doubt, and let history judge him for his actions. Or would you prefer South Africa kept under the boot of apartheid???

Mom, have you seen my flame-proof suit???

No need for the "flame-proof suit" on my account! I just want to know what is it exactly Mandela has done to have so many people in such awe?

Since the black takeover in 1994, 1,368 white farmers have been murdered in farm invasions and attacks that number in the multiple thousands. More than half of the white farmers have given up and left their farms permanently, contributing to the region's looming famine. South African farmers now suffer the highest murder rate in the world -- 274 per 100,000. In a study commissioned by a leading South African bank, Nedbank, it was revealed that the black attackers are

"'deliberately targeting specific homesteads to kill the [White] Afrikaner victims': robbery was not the prime motivation, in fact in 85% of last year's farm attacks, nothing had been 'robbed.'"

Amen. Make that $0.04 along with my two cents. I got sick of the sorelosermen after Florida and I'm equally sick of the sorelosermen who still can't get over Clinton and spew hatred towards anyone that is even sitting at the same table with him. Get over it, folks. Dubya is 30 months into his own term. Wasting your time and blood pressure on Clinton just makes you out as having never gotten over it. Even though FreeRepublic lectured Gore for months to get over it. Maybe your mom sewed two suits?

So the trade-off was a quicker end of apartheid only to be governed by a group undeniably vicious and non-discriminating in murdering anyone they deemed am adversary to their cause..
During the 1980's,what was most interesting, though not widely reported for some reason, was that the Zulu nation, and Mangosuthu Buthelezi recognized the perils ahead for South Africa should the ANC be allowed to take power. They seen that progress was being made under Botha, and later, de Klerk.
Buthelezi also realized that with the ascension of the ANC, South Africa's economy would plummet, further aggravating and impeding any real hope for all South Africans to coexist on a level field.
