1:41PM Pelosi seeks pension vote anulled by Corbett B. Daly
WASHINGTON (CBS.MW) -- House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., called for House of Representatives to annul the approval in the House Ways and Means Committee of a bill that would change pension laws. Earlier in the day, House Republicans called the police after Democrats walked out of a House committee vote on pension reforms. Pelosi called it an "indignity" to call the police on the Democrats. The Democrats had objected to a procedural move by committee Chairman Bill Thomas, R-Calif., and tried to delay the vote. While Democrats were out of the room, Thomas pushed the bill through unanimously on a voice vote. A Republican staffer asked Capitol Police to remove the Democrats from the room where they had taken refuge. The Democrats left on their own. The bill approved was a substitute for the Portman-Cardin pension bill, which would alter the way companies calculate pension liabilities and would also reform IRA and 401(k) plans.

Rangel says Dems were subject to arrest for resisting multiple requests to vacate the room. Republicans denied that during debate.

What an interesting time that must have been. I have read the book Hill Rat, and it seemed that the Chairman regarded the committees as their own fiefdom even more so than now.

Rep. Steny Hoyer says majority has a pattern of intimidating and shutting up the minority, not allowing their input.
Now talking about (bad) actions taken toward (runaway) Texas Democrats.
C-Span doesn't seem to want to cut away to action on the floor.
