1:41PM Pelosi seeks pension vote anulled by Corbett B. Daly
WASHINGTON (CBS.MW) -- House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., called for House of Representatives to annul the approval in the House Ways and Means Committee of a bill that would change pension laws. Earlier in the day, House Republicans called the police after Democrats walked out of a House committee vote on pension reforms. Pelosi called it an "indignity" to call the police on the Democrats. The Democrats had objected to a procedural move by committee Chairman Bill Thomas, R-Calif., and tried to delay the vote. While Democrats were out of the room, Thomas pushed the bill through unanimously on a voice vote. A Republican staffer asked Capitol Police to remove the Democrats from the room where they had taken refuge. The Democrats left on their own. The bill approved was a substitute for the Portman-Cardin pension bill, which would alter the way companies calculate pension liabilities and would also reform IRA and 401(k) plans.

Pelosi should know that a non vote does not equal a no vote.

The new Democrat strategy -- "If we can't have our way, we are going to walk out and then whine that you can't do anything without us because that would be undemocratic." Hey, it worked so well for Bob Torricelli.

You snooze, you lose. Pay attention next time...actually, I take that back. Please walk away from as many votes as you can, because every vote you Dems miss helps make this country a better place to live.

LOL. This is funny. The democrats throw a tantrum and leave, so Republicans gave them a spanking and delt with the bill without them. Absolutely pricess.

A Republican staffer asked Capitol Police to remove the Democrats from the room where they had taken refuge. Is there a specific reason the staffer asked them to leave, or was he just trying to bother them? If they were disrupting something in that room that the GOP had a right to do, and they wouldn't leave when asked, what's wrong with calling the police?
