Chrysler Corporation was to add a new car to it's line to honor Bill Clinton. The Dodge Drafter was to begin production in Canada this year, but the car had to be pulled out of production when initial tests showed that the little white lines on the road kept disappearing all the time. |

This whole immigration thing drives me nuts.
The US is on a downward spiral and our best days are behind us.

In contrast to unscrupulous businesses' Washington mouthpieces, America's Main Street small businesses don't want a guestworker program and oppose amnesty. The National Federation of Independent Business finds in member surveys that small business owners by nearly 3-to-1 oppose "temporary guest worker programs to ease worker shortages." And only 16 percent of business owners actually favor "amnesty to illegal immigrants who have worked in this country for a specified number of years" that business lobbyists in Washington are pushing. What else can I say that I haven't over the 6 yrs here. The people have NO say in this "Two-Party Cartel" but as I see it you all must want it that way because you keep putting the same ones back in office that oppose your requests.

Don't let Larry Kudlow, the Baghdad Bob of the economy, see this article. He's been blathering on about a recovery (what is it with the "second half recovery" that's so appealing?) for years now.

Capitalism seeks the lowest cost to produce a product, in order to better compete. Corps hire illegals/legal immigrants/h1b's,l1's/outsource jobs overseas/move factories overseas cause it's cheaper.
Gubmint is supposed to enforce a level playing field - it isn't, and probably won't. You would think that gubmint would realize that fewer people employed mean fewer taxes for them to waste, but they don't.
I am not optimistic about the outcome. The only safety net is to start your own biz, not rely on getting jobs from others (imho).

I know of several people who have applied for jobs. Yet the jobs were given to immigrants.

The weird thing is ----many immigrants aren't coming in to work at all ---many come in and get SSI, Medicaid and all the rest. In this area the over-65 years of age group is one of the largest group of immigrants along with those below working age. You can find more immigrants sitting in welfare offices here than you can find working hard in the 100+ degree sun. Many of the unwed mothers coming in from Mexico never did intend to work ---it's a double whammy on Americans ---we get some coming in who will take good jobs ---but also many lazy coming in to have us support them.
