An Ejaculation a Day May Keep Prostate Cancer at Bay Wed Jul 16,10:35 PM ET
SYDNEY (Reuters) - Frequent masturbation may be really good for you.
Research by Australia's Cancer Council Victoria found that the more often men ejaculate between the ages of 20 and 50, the less likely they are to suffer the disease that kills more than half a million men each year.
The survey of 1,079 prostate cancer (news - web sites) patients and 1,259 healthy men found that those who masturbated or had sex at least once a day in their 20s were a third less likely to develop the malady.

Great News! One less thing for me to worry about. Reuters must have hired Dr. Elders. Seriously, with my family history I get a thorogh inspection down there every year since I turned 26. I recommend the same for everyone.

"Giles said the findings correlate with previous research that showed Roman Catholic priests were 30 percent more likely to get prostate cancer, but they contradict other studies that suggested having a variety of partners or frequent sex could lift the risk."
How did you miss this gem in the article?

How did you miss this gem in the article? Oh, the perils of skimming. After the first couple of sentences I figured I pretty well had a grasp of (heh, heh)the article.

I don't want to beat this issue to death, :o) but I have one major concern here; You may not get Prostate Cancer, but what about the "if you keep doing that you will go blind!!" factor? :o)
Anecdotal experience with the "number of times" contrasting the "number of different partners": While I was reading the article, my friend Joe came to mind. He was obsessed with sex, hitting on every store clerk, every woman in every bar we went into (It was neverending)...and he was remarkably successful at getting laid...sometimes more than once a day.
If the "number of times" prevented Prostate Cancer, he would NEVER develop cancer. However he DID develop Prostate Cancer...so mebbe it was the "number of partners" element that caused it.
Enough said...we need to take this matter into hand.
