So, we had the Challenger because of the asbestos and the Columbia because of the freon.

I read somewhere that the architect of the Twin Towers said that the buildings would not have collapsed if the structural beams had been allowed to be coated with an asbestos compound, as was the specs in the original design.

This was forbidden by the EPA and so they did not resist the heat nearly as well.

As far as endangered species policy is concerned, ranchers and farmers have a saying: "Shoot, shovel, and forget"
