Pentagon Bombshell: U.S. Uncovers WMD Document 'Mother Lode'

The Pentagon's chief weapons inspector David Kay has uncovered what is being described as a "mother lode" of documents in Iraq detailing Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction program.

I've already seen enough to convince me," said Kay, a former U.N. weapons inspector, in an interview aired Tuesday with "NBC Nightly News" anchorman Tom Brokaw.

"We're finding progress reports. [Iraqi scientists] also got financial rewards from Saddam Hussein by breakthroughs, indicating breakthroughs. They actually took--went to Saddam and said 'We have made this progress.'" the top WMD prober explained. "There are records, there are audiotapes of those interviews which give us that."

"According to Kay, the Iraqis seem to keep documents on even the most damning evidence," said Brokaw.

In assessing the scope of Kay's find, the NBC newsman proclaimed, "This is a mother lode, an estimated seven and a half miles of documents, many of them collected by U.S. military from [Iraq's] official buildings, but many others handed over by Iraqi civilians."

Iraq's WMD files are currently undergoing a painstaking analysis, said Brokaw, who explained, "Many of them [are] handwritten, have to be scanned onto a computer in this small, highly secure facility."

Working with Arabic translators, U.S. weapons experts look for certain clues, including personnel records, foreign purchases and lab results.

The Pentagon's chief weapons prober said he didn't want to go public with details of his find until the case is an indisputable lock. "I know if we can't explain the WMD program of Iraq we lose credibility with regard to other states like Iran, Syria and North Korea," he told NBC.

How long will it take before President Bush is able to reveal what could be smoking gun justification of his decision to make war on Iraq?

"I think we will have a substantial body of evidence before six months," Kay told NBC.

Brokaw ended his report on Kay's find with a clip of Tuesday's comment by Sen. Ted Kennedy, D-Mass.; a move the newsman apparently intended as a reminder to Democrats who continue to carp about the lack of WMD evidence, that they're liable to be humiliated when the full story is known.

"It's a disgrace that the case for war seems to have been based on shoddy intelligence, hyped intelligence, and even false intelligence," Kennedy complained.

Meanwhile back in Baghdad, Kay continues to pour over his treasure trove of WMD documents.

Naah, all of the rats and their cloned third party whiners about GW should apologize for their attempt to electronically lynch GW with Yellowcake Scam.

Asking GW to apologize is like asking a woman who was about to become a rape victim and shot the would be rapist to apologize. Only mentally ill people think that way.

I don't think that Tony will deliver the coffins in his special speech.

More than likely during his speech several Home Depot Delivery trucks will drop a lot of wood to build gallows and coffins with the tools, hammers, nails and rope to start the process.

We don't want this to be a long and drawn out process. I want them to feel like rats do when a big cat "plays" with them before before finally killing them for dinner.

Maybe Brokaw has seen enough and heard enough to begin to separate himself from the rabid pack of mediots on ABCNNBCBS, who are destroying any credibility they have with this Yellowcake Scam.

I hope that it takes about 6 months of disclosure of the brutal plans of $oddomite. During that time we and other conservatives can hammer our local fishwraps and the mediots on ABCNNBCBS re how they lied and tried to electronically lynch our president.

Their willingness to be actively involved in the Yellowcake Scam shows that they are worthless and not worth a milli second of interest.

Thanks for your excellent links! The Tuwaitha story is certainly one that deserves much, much more press coverage than it has gotten so far. The foreign press is way ahead of the U.S. in coverage of this story. John Loftus on Batchelor and Alexander has spent a fair amount of time on this topic, but not too much lately. A month or two ago, Loftus talked about the fight between the UN and US over who should control the site. The US eventually prevailed because the UN could not prevent the looting.

That sucking sound you just heard was the end of the Democratic chances to take the white house or retain their numbers in the house or senate in 2004...

How many times are we (FReepers) going to get ourselves all pumped up thinking we've finally found the good, only to be disappointed when nothing materializes?? It's becoming a little disconcerting, and deflates the sails each time...

In other news, Senator Daschle was placed on suicide watch.

Daschle and Gefhardon are, "deeply saddened."

I think this issue is "Political Black Ice." Like real "black ice," you never see it coming and once you hit it, there is NO TRACTION and NO WAY TO RECOVER. Especially if you are speeding. Bush just let them accelerate on this. He is the black ice President.

Excellent analogy. Thank you!

"Don't suppose W has/is pulling a rope-a-dope on the Dims. Let them commit themselves and their credibility in attacking Bush on WMD claims, then nail them with the evidence. "

If that is the syrategy - I would call it both dumb & extremly political. Dumb because the six months wait for proof will erode confidence in both the POTUS and USA, both domestic & foreign. Political because it would be using information that the citizens of the US are entitled to, just to score political points.
If the rope-a-dope is true, it will be the most shameful episode of crassnes I have seen in a long, long time - even worse than wag-the-dog.

We live in the "real tv" and overblown number of "talk shows" where everybody spills their guts 24/7 and we've gotten to the point where because this administration is reserved and plays their hand close and no one blabs (especially during war time!) that somehow they are "secretive" or "hiding something"...YEAH, they're hiding something all right...how they work 24/7 to keep our country from another terrorist attack and all the thanks they get from our media is SLURS and SLANDEROUS statements WITHOUT ANY FACTS!@

everybody spills their guts 24/7

I listen to talk radio all the time, don't know if the on/off switch works anymore, it's always on. Listened last night for any mention of all these miles of docs, but nothing. You'd think someone would pick up on the story.

I don't know what deflating you are talking about, we control both houses of congress, the white house, have gained seats in the last election and are on track to gain even more....

The last time I was truly deflated was when I watched the Senate refuse to do their constitutionally mandated duty and hold a true impeachment trial for a sow named Clinton.
