LOS ANGELES -- Cameron Diaz is seeking an injunction barring the release of photographs taken at a private modeling session over a decade ago, before she was a star.
In the lawsuit, the 30-year-old "Charlie's Angels" star claims she didn't sign a photo release and that a release produced by the photographer is a forgery, her publicist, Brad Cafarelli, said Tuesday. He wouldn't describe the nature of the pictures.
Photographer John Rutter told the syndicated news program "Inside Edition" he had contacted Diaz's lawyers to offer them the photos before he sold them to any media outlets.
"This was a negotiation for a right of first refusal with Cameron Diaz's lawyers," Rutter said in a statement to "Inside Edition." "A few hours after her lawyers offered to buy the photos my place was raided."
A spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County district attorney's office confirmed Tuesday that investigators searched Rutter's Venice apartment as part of a continuing investigation.
"Our office executed search warrants on June 30 involving an incident where Cameron Diaz is the alleged victim," said spokeswoman Jane Robison.
She declined to provide further details. No charges have been filed against Rutter. He couldn't be reached by The Associated Press for comment Tuesday.
There were few details available as to the contents of the photographs, but Rutter described them as "beautiful," "Inside Edition" reported. Rutter said he took the photographs well before Diaz's big break in the 1994 film "The Mask."

If they are so "beautiful", then why is Diaz seeking to bar the release of them?

If they are so "beautiful", then why is Diaz seeking to bar the release of them?I can think of two possible reasons. 1) She'd like to be paid. 2) They conflict with her current wholesome image.

I'm at work here...lol. Don't do that... I'm trying to look busy and concerned. Seeing a half-nekid female ruins all that (can't believe I said that).

Actually I was thinking of Diaz. And how some self-respect would have stood her in good stead.

Topless photos and video footage of a 21-year-old Cameron Diaz are at the center of what her lawyers are calling an extortion attempt by a Los Angeles photographer...
Sources say bidding by magazines, including Larry Flynt's Hustler, has approached $3.5 million...
Rutter says the session with Diaz came just before she made "The Mask," which became her 1994 screen debut. "She is topless, wearing interesting outfits," he says of the shoot...
Rutter says he has a photo release signed by Diaz, denying that it is a forgery...

A woman takes off her claim to respect along with her garments. HerodotusWell said... Ms Diaz is extremely beautiful. She has the prettiest eyes I've ever seen.
I have a feeling these pictures aren't just topless or full frontal. She has a right to make a mistake and be forgiven. I hope she can keep these pictures out of the magazines and internet.
