[history]
The pro-American mayor of Hadithah in western Iraq was shot and killed Wednesday along with one of his nine sons, the U.S. military reported.
The military spokesman said he could offer no other details, but the Arab satellite network Al-Jazeera said Mohammed Nayil al-Jurayfi's car was shot up by unidentified attackers as he drove through the city of about 150,000 about 150 miles northwest of Baghdad.

Exactly what I was thinking - get Saddam. And while we're at it, not another dime to a country that doesn't have forces assisting our troops.

The effort in Iraq is part of the War on Terror and not a separate endeavor.

....you're forgetting one thing. These dumb-asses over there don't want democracey. I say we protect the oil fields (our original reason for going over there) and let the civvies wallow around in their own s#it for the next 50 years.

The effort in Iraq is part of the War on Terror and not a separate endeavor. That's exactly why the Democrats oppose it.
The only "quagmire" is on Capitol Hill, and that is because it is infested with Communists. For now.

...d a's or not the people of the Middle East WILL be democratized so that harsh male controlled societies will see their Mothers freed to teach their children the true Prices paid for waging war...
...so that they will not go out and start them later on.
...This will happen, and is happening before your very eyes.

Yes they DO want democracy! Think, wild west - or Al Capone's Chicago. We're the ones in the white hats. Our troops know this - so do the vast majority of Iraqi people...some, like the brave man here - along with his son - are dying fighting their enemies alongside us.
We take out FAR more of the bad guys.

I'm posting L.T. Smash (reserve officer in Iraq) all over FR today:
July 15, Iraq:
Meanwhile, another group of soldiers were ambushed outside Baghdad.
"Our unit was making its way out of the ammunitions dump when we were ambushed. Our Bradleys (fighting vehicles) fought back and we killed five attackers," Captain Mark Miller, the commander of the company involved, told Reuters.
There were no U.S. casualties.
Bring it on.
