Online "test" -- Which political sterotype are you?
Dean's World ^

Posted on 07/15/2003 8:35:12 PM PDT by tuna_battle_slight_return

This is quick and easy. Only six questions and the results are tabulated quickly.

Which political sterotype are you? (click on link to take the "test")

The author says:

"I have voted in every Presidential election since 1984, and in that time have voted for two Democrats, two Republicans, and one third-party candidate. I am already pretty sure how I'll vote in 2004, but only by about 90%.

I voted in the Democratic primary this year, but the candidates I supported lost, and I will probably vote Republican in the general election since I don't like where today's Democratic Party is--class warfare, anti-gun paranoia, and religion and abortion extremists make me ill."

I came out a Libertarian. This test focused almost exclusively on economic policies, however. I believe in a free market and very little government regulation, if any. I strongly support the right to keep and bear arms. However, I believe in a strong and aggressive national defense and support the policy of preemptive action when faced with the threat of WMDs. I also believe that the Constitution is not a "living document" to be changed at the whim of the Supreme Court. Most of the libertarians on FR seem to like the Lawrence decision because they oppose the particular law that was struck down.

The survey was stupid and one-dimensional.

Geeze! I took that test and came out a Libertarian on THAT one, too! How's that possible? I DON'T DO DRUGS! For cripes sake, I've never even had a drop of liquor in my life, much less smoked pot. Oh well.

Republican - You believe that the free market will take care of most things, but that the government should be there with moderate taxation to provide for national defense and enforcing morality. Your historical role model is Ronald Reagan.

I came up Libertarian on the small test too.

You know I always thought it might be fun to grow some weed!

You guys are so nice and I was trying to get a rise out of someone.

I have to admit something that I have been holding back on it is that in my dreams I see the Democrat party imploding going the way of the wigs and the two party system would leave just the Republicans and Libertarians balancing power.

Ah, but I am so simplistic sometimes.

It said I was like Sonny Bono, and that I liked tall, beautiful, dark haired women. And am Republican.

Stalin
Communist - You believe that private property
should be abolished, and all power should be
vested in a large, all pervasive state. Your
historical role model is Joseph Stalin.

Hitler
Fascist - You believe that an alliance of
monopolistic corporations and oppressive
government should cooperate to lord it over the
population with an efficient iron fist. Your
historical role model is Adolf Hitler.

Is it so shocking that libertarians are nice? We are always nice until someone gets a rise out of us. ;-)

Like you, it looks like a lot of people are surprised to learn just how (small 'l') libertarian they are. They just happen to think that it is still a dirty word. It isn't.

If Thomas Jefferson is the historical role model for libertarians, then how bad can we be?

These things are ham handed by nature, and Quizilla in particular has little finesse. I tried to pick what I thought were the most representative answers and came up Democrat. For the terrorism question I would have liked a "kick your enemy's teeth in" option.

Came up as Libertarian, no real surprise although I consider myself a 'Pubbie. What frosted my flakes was the following:

Libertarian - You believe that the main use for government is for some people to lord it over others at their expense.

No bias there!

.

There is a far more specific test on this matter at Politopia. Your results are plotted out on a graphical display. It's also fun, but a bit more accurate. You can take the test at HERE.
