If you have heard anything good or bad about the society here is where you can find out the truth straight from the top. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity where these 3 men will be together at a forum like this in the area. So, please try to make it on Friday night, there is NO charge and you will be glad you did attend.

Why does William F. Buckley so despise the JBS? They share Joe McCarthy as a common hero.

Not sure. McManus wrote a scathing book about him so I guess the JBS despises Buckley and vice versa. Buckley is a neo conservative, there's a lot about him in the book which I haven't read yet.

Actually, that should be a copper mesh hat...but moving on...
The JBS actually discourages crazy conspiracy theories and sticks to facts and to guarding the Constitution. The JBS teaches to avoid fringe issues because they "neutralize" (or distract) from the core important issues.
Would you say that asking people to write to their congressmen asking them to keep us out of UNESCO, would you say that was a wacky effort? That's an example of the topics they try to keep people informed about.

I guess some people think the same about freepers too. With some of the things I've seen from FReepers on here... they wouldn't be too far off. This JBS meeting notice was posted on FR after all.

Why does William F. Buckley so despise the JBS?The JBS, essentially set the Conservative Movement back 20 years. Goldwater's '64 presidential run was constantly thwarted by problems with the JBS and the press.

You could run down the list of what most Freepers believe and what JBSer's believe, and they'd pretty much match up one for one. I know whereof I speak because I've been a Freeper since before I registered March '98, and I've been a Bircher about the same time.
It was the JBS leaders who originally spoke w/H.Hyde and started the move to impeach Clinton (bet ya didn't know that). Then they followed it w/the "Impeach Clinton Now" petition drive that swept the nation.
Lately, their push has been to "Get US out of the UN." Not a bad thing, right? They've published books and videos reporting the facts about the UN's members who are terrorists and about the UN's blind-eye to genecides in countries that don't benefit their agendas.
And last but not least, they're in lock-step w/Freepers in wanting to defend the Constitution. (Sound crazy yet?)
They're not protesters, but try to change government through congressmen and through educating the public about the truth, which is often suppressed. So far, they've been right up my alley - no "fluoride in the water" scares, no "commie behind every tree" scares. Just facts backed up by research. I think they hit the nail on the head about the neo-con issues w/Buckley.

And last but not least, they're in lock-step w/Freepers in wanting to defend the Constitution. There's a very large amount of FReepers who would just as soon wipe their a$$ with the Constitution, specifically the 2nd, 4th, and 10th Amendments.

I believe there is a landing pad at that hotel....

Are any of you going to talk facts, or are you going to talk feelings like the liberal left? For instance, what kind of oddities have you seen in the New American? I'm going to get like Rush and insist you put some facts w/your conclusions.

The Spotlight is put out by The Liberty Lobby, not the JBS. LL has been harshly criticized in The New American.
