i tend to agree with that analysis. i think my wife would chime in similarly.
having said that, i'm not sure that this wasn't a pretty big screw up, objectively, by the admin. we'll probably survive politically, but as a matter of statesmanship...i'm not sure this was a realy winner. thoughts?

I understand that feeling, but I keep coming back to the fact that the Brits insist that the Africa intel was only one part of the overall comfirming info, and that they still stand by the original premis.

I think the Admin pushed ahead agressively for the war, and for that reason alone would be subjected to criticism for any screw up at all, whether in intelligence, military action, political or whathaveyou. It so happens it is a piece of intelligence.
Was it a screwup? I didn't think it was a big deal. I saw Rumsfeld on MtP yesterday and I thought he had solid answers. It's been 10 weeks since major ops ended in Iraq. I guess I would say I am still witholding judgement and waiting to see what happens in the world.
