Since today we are thanking our military for all they do and have done for us, I am posting this. Our military made this happen........

"Afghanistan is Rotary's 166th country with reinstatement of Kabul club. The Rotary Club of Kabul, Afghanistan, was welcomed back into Rotary International this week, ending a 24-year absence of Rotary in that country and raising the total number of countries in which Rotary clubs are active to 166. The club had previously existed from 1968 to 1979, but more than two decades of war and political instability made it impossible for it to remain active." ~ Bhichai Rattakul President, Rotary International 2002 - 2003

It was a very short time ago that the women in Afghanistan were wearing burkas. Now, the Kabul Rotary Club has it's first women president. Something to be very proud of! :-)

Thank is RIGHT Mama_Bear! Great Job! http://goexcelglobal.com/NJ_DefenseForce

Don't Just Support Our Troops Support Our Cause

Our military is still confronting the Taliban in Afghanistan. They are now confronting Saddam Hussein's regime in Iraq. We must support our troops! But, most of all, we have to maintain their fight. We live in a society now where we have to be prepared for terrorism as a way of life. But, we have ways of combating it at it's roots!

Billions are being spent on America's Homeland Security.

Now it's our turn. We, the citizen's, have to contribute to the war against terrorism. If we don't, our military has fought in vain. By helping build up the communities, we take away the means of terroristic recruitment.

Our military can end the regimes of today with military might. But, then, we must step up and finish the job. We need to contribute to feed, clothe and educate the citizens of these countries; otherwise, the terrorist will come back and recruit.

Even President Bush recognized this. In his State of the Union address, he said that America will help the oppressed people "secure their country, rebuild their society and educate all their children-boys and girls."

Why does this responsibility fall to us? Because of what the regimes have been doing to them. And unless we step up and aggressively, collectively contribute to the cause....it will only be a matter of time before the next 9/11.

9/11 made this cause both of our destinies, the people oppressed by regimes and the people of the US are bound together. We must win together to win this one. In a way we have become related by blood. Their freedom and our homeland security have been watered by the blood of those willing. It is no coincidence the name of the coalition is The Coalition Of The Willing. It is costing us the lives of our children that is a mighty bond. Luz C. Cintrón, April 2003

It's so good to see that the women in Afghanistan are making so much progress. Seemed so tragic that they had been left in the Middle Ages for so long but now that 'quagmire' has been broken through with the help of our military.
