If you could do me a favor, I just heard yesterday at my church that the Volunteer Fire Fighters of Anne Arundel County, MD are being cut down by our county Executive, Janet Owens. I'll post more detialed informatiom on that, but the people of Anne Arundel County are being urged to write to Janet Owens to say they need the VFFS!
Also I heard on the radio, WBAL in Baltimore that some folks (in a 2year old community) are demanding that the local firehouse in Owings Mills turn OFF thier sirens at night as it is keeping them up at night.
HELP!!! our firefighters are being endangered as well as the communities they serve in Maryland! This is not good!
BTW, Yesterday I saw the firefighters in action whent they were called to investigate a possible gas leak in an apartment in my community. All was well but just think what a panic these people who were in that apartment would be in if there were no firefighters and volunteers to come to thier aid.
Like I said I'll post more detailed information about this tomorrow as soon as I can get a hold of the paper that was handed to me yesterday.
