The media smells blood. They think this issue will stick and they are going to run it to death.

They were warned fair and square by that one Dem congresscritter who had seen the non-released information about WMD.

The left have chosen to ignore the warning. Let them be hoisted on their own petard, on the President's time.

The truth is less important to the media than entertainment value. That is why the media will call an unverified statement a "lie" and a real lie (ie I didn't have sex with that woman) they will call "irrelevant".

Have you noticed that it's like all the major media and print magazines are on the same page. It's like somebody snapped their fingers, and it's "Everybody pile on the Bush administration".

They've basically all been on the same page for as long as I can remember.

"The media smells blood. They think this issue will stick and they are going to run it to death."

This is story is going to die, just like all the other trumped up charges the Dems have attempted to level at the Pres. It seems they think they can win the election with this kind of nonsense - and it's easier than having real ideas on real issues.

Seems *someone* had said -- all along -- that the only thing the Liberal-Socialist Democratic quisling mediots in the lamestream were doing (back during the war when all those glowing approval poll numbers proving 'em wrong were coming out?) were doing was regrouping. Remember? :o)

Let me guess. Could that someone be (Mack the Knife? .... oops .... sorry .... just slipped out .... been havin' '50s flashbacks :)

Now this poster appears to have nailed the leftist mediot mo dead-on, alright; but, the real question now shifts to, "Will a solid majority of the nation catch the Liberal-Socialist Democratic ploy, too; or, is the nation going to permit itself to once again be suckered by the sycophant quisling leftists infesting the nation's information system?"

Was that a rhetorical question, Dan? If it wasn't you have much more faith in the analytical abilities of the average citizen than I (to even contemplate that the leftist media/entertainment/political propaganda powers that be will not have their way with public opinion .... yet again).

If it was (rhetorical), don't bother to read any further. We're on the same page on this one (as usual).

Do the words (1) Watergate, (2) Vietnam, (3) Iran Contra, (4) It's the Economy, Stupid, ring a bell? Leftists can (and are prepared to) chant any anti-conservative refrain until their throats are sore. But long before the soreness sets in, the public will wind up believing the words and the tune. As Hitler knew all too well, sufficient repetition, artfully aimed at minds too disinterested to weigh the truth of its content, is more valuable than facts.

I received this from a friend a couple of days ago:

Sad Announcement

Today we mourn the passing of an old friend, Common Sense. Common Sense lived a long life, but died in the United States from heart failure early in the new millennium. No one really knows how old he was, since his birth records were lost long ago amid bureaucratic red tape. He selflessly devoted his life to service in schools, hospitals, homes, and factories, helping folks get jobs done without fanfare and foolishness.

For decades, petty rules, silly laws, and frivolous lawsuits held no power over Common Sense. He was credited with cultivating such valued lessons as to know when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm, and that life isn't always fair.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you earn), reliable parenting strategies (the adults are in charge, not the kids), and its okay to come in second. A veteran of the Industrial Revolution, the Great Depression, and the Technological Revolution, Common Sense survived cultural and educational trends including body piercing, whole language, and ‘new math.’ But his health declined when he became infected with the ‘If-it-only-helps-one-person-it's-worth-it’ virus.

In recent decades his waning strength proved no match for the ravages of well intentioned but overbearing regulations. He watched in pain as good people became ruled by self-seeking lawyers. His health rapidly deteriorated when schools endlessly implemented zero tolerance policies.

Reports of a six-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate, a teen suspended for taking a swig of mouthwash after lunch, and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student only worsened his condition. It declined even further when schools had to get parental consent to administer aspirin to a student but could not inform the parent when a female student was pregnant or wanted an abortion.

Common Sense lost his will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband, churches became businesses, criminals received better treatment than victims, and federal judges stuck their noses in everything from the Boy Scouts to professional sports. When an individual, too stupid to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot, was awarded a huge settlement, Common Sense threw in the towel.

As the end neared, Common Sense drifted in and out of logic but was kept informed of developments regarding questionable regulations such as those for low flow toilets, rocking chairs, stepladders and auto emissions. Common Sense finally succumbed when, while the United States was fighting a war on terrorism, a federal judge declared the Pledge of Allegiance to be unconstitutional.

Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust; his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason. He is survived by two step siblings: My Rights, and Ima Whiner.

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone.

I think we could all add a few more paragraphs of our own, but why beat a dead horse?

P.S. I was (good-naturedly) accused by a friend today of being too negative lately, so I've determined to add a little positive to every conversation. Here goes: My tomato plants are doing beautifully -- counted seventy-six tomatoes on them this afternoon.

(that’s because leftists had nothing to do with their planting, or the weather – oops, borderline negativity, huh? So sue me. :).

To quote a Marine Corps officer, "Some dead horses deserve to be beaten again, or as my grandma always said, 'there's no cat so flat that you couldn't back over it one more time!'"

"Let me guess. Could that someone be (Mack the Knife?...oops...sorry...just slipped out...been havin' '50s flashbacks"

Very funny, young Lady.
(That'd be 1959, to be exact.)
I suppose you're real proud of yourself knowing damned well you'd get me scrambling for my Bobby Darin stuff from '59, eh? (Aquarians...sheshhhh. {g})

"Was that a rhetorical question, Dan? If it wasn't you have much more faith in the analytical abilities of the average citizen than I (to even contemplate that the leftist media/entertainment/political propaganda powers that be will not have their way with public opinion...yet again)."

HA!!
You got my number. (throwing up hands)
Can't slip even the tiniest bit of sarcasm past your eagle eyes & razor sharp wit.

"If it was (rhetorical), don't bother to read any further."

Whaaaaat??!!??
Risk missing whatever else you've got to say on the topic??
Nope.
Not a chance.
No way, Jose'. ;^)

"We're on the same page on this one (as usual)."

So.
You knew all along my motive for pingin' you away from the more pressing matters of your life to this piece, huh.
Just file it under "H," for "Humor."

"Do the words (1) Watergate, (2) Vietnam, (3) Iran Contra, (4) It's the Economy, Stupid, ring a bell?"

Well hell yes, of course they do.
At my age the pattern's become painfully familiar & really tiring having to watch the ploy worked again & again ad nauseum.
The names McCarthy, Nixon, Gingrich & most recently a certain senator from Mississippi come immediately to (my) mind, also.

Interestingly enough -- & in the interest of fairness -- it must be noted an awful Lott of "good conservatives" had a hand on the club our Leftist-Socialist Democrat mediot quislings employed to whack the baffoon into social unconsciousness, you'll recall?
As usual the mediot morons needed a Lott of help taking down one of our own using their same old tired modus operandi; which, hasn't needed to change one bit in over 50 years.
Pretty sorry, huh.

Well anyway, the mediot lice are surely gonna be needing some of that *reliable* help from our side once again this go around too, y'know; IF, they're to have any chance at success whacking this POTUS (or any of his people).

I know you're just as curious as I [am] to see *who'll* be amoung the first from our side to break rank & lend the miserable SOBs the needed aid, too.
Even if it's boringly predictable this'll have to happen. (~& the lunatic McCaniac & your boy li'l Arlen Specter don't count...)

"Leftists can (and are prepared to) chant any anti-conservative refrain until their throats are sore. But long before the soreness sets in, the public will wind up believing the words and the tune. As Hitler knew all too well, sufficient repetition, artfully aimed at minds too disinterested to weigh the truth of its content, is more valuable than facts."

Why is it more & more these days I'm being reminded of quotes from monsters the likes of Hitler, Stalin and/or Mao to remind me of what's actually happening right here in the good ol' USA, today?

~& joanie girl, that "is" rhetorical, OK? :o)

"I received this from a friend a couple of days ago: Sad Announcement...I think we could all add a few more paragraphs of our own, but why beat a dead horse?"

:^)
Yea-yea...adding to that list won't change a damned thing, either.
Will it?

"P.S. I was (good-naturedly) accused by a friend today of being too negative lately, so I've determined to add a little positive to every conversation. Here goes: My tomato plants are doing beautifully -- counted seventy-six tomatoes on them this afternoon."

HA!!
You??
Well FYI my plants are pathetic.
How's that for negativity if not abject honesty?

"(that’s because leftists had nothing to do with their planting, or the weather – oops, borderline negativity, huh? So sue me."

Y'know, given recent events one could easily insert right wingers there too if only those right wingers would get their hands off of our money & liberty; which, of course they haven't & (apparently) won't.
Even so, here's something to cheer you up that scholar sent me just today (7-16) you could send your good natured friend to prove you're not really a crab.
Here goes:
------------------

A popular bar had a new robotic bartender installed.
A guy came in for a drink and the robot asked him, "What's your IQ"?
The man replied, "130".
So the robot proceeded to make conversation about physics, astronomy, investments, insurance, and so on.
The man listened intently and thought, "This is really cool".

Another guy came in for a drink and the robot asked him, "What's your IQ?"
The man responded, "100."
So the robot started talking about the football, baseball and so on.
The man thought to himself, "Wow, this is really cool".

A third guy came in to the bar. As with the others, the robot asked him, "What's your IQ?"
The man replied, "70".
The robot then said, "So, what's the Democratic Party up to these days?"
-----------------

Of course I'd thought the joke would've made more sense if "Repub Party" were inserted instead of the 'Rats; since, we truly are the "Dumb party" if judged only by the behavior(s) of those we've elected.

...unfortunately. :o)
