My friend and comrade in arms,Mr.B.goes.to Washington, the host of ATF Night, has asked me to make a special announcement concerning the upcoming regular ATF Night meeting.
ATF night this month will feature a very special speaker - Shawn Steel, the immediate past chairman of the California Republican party. Come hear Mr. Steel discuss the current exciting political developments involving the governance of the state of California.
"ATF Night" (A Pro-Gun Social Event) Thursday, July 17, 2003 6:30 PM No Host Cocktail Hour / 7:30 PM Program Begins
The San Gennaro Cafe (Banquet Room) 9543 Culver Blvd., Culver City, CA
FREE ADMISSION (A Voluntary Donation to cover overhead is requested, but not required)
Hosted by California Assembly Nominee John Brantuk Telephone: (562) 698-2870 email: John.W.Brantuk@BrantukForAssembly.org www.BrantukForAssembly.org
What is "ATF Night"? No, ATF Night is not the federal gun control agency. ATF Night is a social gathering of Second Amendment and liberty activists and leaders who meet monthly to discuss firearms-related issues over (optional) adult beverages and dinner, and afterwards, those so inclined may choose to step outside to continue discussions while enjoying a fine cigar - hence the name.
Originally hosted by The Lawyers' Second Amendment Society, the meetings have continued thanks to the leadership assumed by John Brantuk, Republican Nominee for the California State Assembly (see www.BrantukForAssembly.org)
You don't have to be an activist to attend - newcomers and the curious are always welcome.

Shawn Steele is the past chairman of the California Republican Party. Shawn is a great speaker and one of the first to support recalling the "un-governor", "the dim bulb", "the Prince of Darkness", "Gray the RED", joe(yes, his real first name IS joe!)davis.
To those who say we are perverting the political process I say; This is part of the political process,a tool afforded to us by the California State Constitution.
Just two years ago we had a budget surplus. Before the election we were told by davis we had a $9 billion deficit. HE LIED!!!! and even his supporters see the light. We are $39 billion in debt and it's climbing. We can not afford to wait another three years!
IT"S TIME TO GO joe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm planning to come - an excellent event indeed!
But is Gray a red?
My interpretation is that he's simply a special interest politician who loves to give the store away to his favourite groups (in his case firefighters and prison guards).
He's incompetent and richly deserves being thrown out of office, but I don't think he's Communist. In a sense, he's worse; if he were communist, he would at least be interesting to watch. But no; he cloaks his incomptence in the magic formula of dullness, which makes most people turn away without understanding.
In the end, that makes him considerably more dangerous than any Communist, since too many people trusted him through their boredom without paying attention.
If people took the time to really understand him, I think he would have lost big in the last election.
I'd rather have Jerry Brown than Gray Davis; at least Jerry could entertain us while running the state into the ground. With Davis, the state gets run into the ground without entertaining us at all :-(.
I look forward to seeing you and the gang at the event!
Would it be a good event to videotape? I would think that putting together a few choice excerpts from the speeches and reactions to the event might be useful. I'd appreciate an "official" response to this from the organizers, since if it would be helpful I'd bring my video camera and give production my highest priority.
I really want to help the recall movement in any way I can.
D
PS I don't know how to spell Mr B's name, or I would have included him in the "to" line in this message.

He takes my hard earned money and gives to those who don't deserve it! From each, according to his ability; to each according to his need. Yes he is a communist or at the very least a socialist, if there is a difference.

This Just In! - Come Thursday night to get ALL of the latest info! See the Thread at
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/947321/posts Ted Costa announced that Shawn Steel, recall co-founder and immediate past chairman of the California Republican Party, will lead a legal task force to coordinate a response to the lawsuit filed against pro Davis trial attorneys today.
The lawsuit seeks to delay the verification of over 1.7 million signatures because, as the pro Davis trial attorneys claim, that two circulators were not legally registered to vote. The pro Davis strategy is designed to curtail a fall recall election in order to buy time for the besieged Governor until the March primary in 2004.
Californians are demanding immediate political relief and will not tolerate dishonest legal tricks to derail the recall movement stated Shawn Steel.
We believe this lawsuit, filed by prominent trial attorneys has the blessing and full cooperation of Secretary of State Kevin Shelley. The pro Davis forces are desperate in trying to deny the will of over 70% Californians who demand change in Sacramento. Steel continued.
Most election legal scholars scoff at the legal attack. We agree with election legal scholar, Professor Rick Hasen, that the argument that two circulators does not contaminate the 1.7 million signatures. Keep in mind that over 155,000 Californians, 98% of them volunteers were circulators. Steel continued.
We seriously doubt that any judge will take accept the lawsuit as anything more than a transparent political trick.
Assuming the petitions have correct voter information, it is difficult to see how the unqualified status of the circulators will interfere with the ability of the clerks to make "the important determination" that the signatures of voters are otherwise valid.
