a man should only marry a woman with whom you would want to have a long passionate and intense affair. (The converse must hold for the woman towards the same man)
Just the notions of a hopeless romantic.

If you want to define "passionate and intense affair" to at least include things other than sex, I might agree. Certainly, sexual attraction should be part of the mix, but the question is how much. The testosterone level may kick in here, but to think that any man (or woman for that matter) can carry on a passionate and intense sexual affair for a lifetime is like chasing the wind! It's not a bad thing to understand and accept that sexual passion waxes and wanes. There are other things -- good things, romantic things -- that sustain marriages. The hope that sexual passion and intensity will remain consistent throughout a lifetime is just plain silly!
The hope that romance and love and committment will last a lifetime is something else.

Yes.

If you can last long enough, it's not the passion but the memories that sustain you.
